On Wednesday, October 17th, two members of the internal security group participated in a roundtable with MA and PhD students studying information technology and cybersecurity at the International University of Rabat.
Organized by the U.S. Embassy, the exchange--some might call it a download--was led by Professor Ghita Mezzour, the school's Dean, and offered useful insights about how Moroccans perceive cybersecurity and its importance in society. The URI students asked questions about leading-edge technology issues and the next set of cyber priorities for the U.S. They also sought career advice.
Members from the JHU delegation emphasized that because technology enables all elements of an organization's functions, and can serve as either its greatest strength or its greatest weakness, cyber professionals need to understand their whole organization and not just its technological elements.
Lots of pizza was eaten, lots of information was shared, and lots of laughs were had. You could say the discussion really clicked.
